A coherent Steampunk universe…
For several years now, Lumibricks has offered Steampunk sets; — like the Steampunk Ore Train or the Steampunk Train Station. But this year, they’re unveiling a rich and cohesive world with its own story.
The Steampunk world of Lumibricks is a vast continent powered by steam, torn by conflict, and shrouded in mystery.
At the height of steam-powered innovation, the Iron Empire reigned supreme over the entire continent. The imperial family held power through a vast, intricate bureaucratic machine, its efficiency rivaled only by its rigidity. Towering airships patrolled the skies, an endless web of railways spanned the land, and every city pulsed with steam towers and whirring aircraft slicing through the clouds.
In the heart of the empire, factories roared and laboratories glowed day and night. Here, alchemy and mechanical science merged in a delicate dance—fueling both industry and imperial ambition. But beneath this gleaming surface, cracks had begun to form.
Energy reserves were dwindling. Social unrest simmered as class divides widened. The very technologies that had built the empire began to inspire fear. Industrial barons tightened their grip on essential resources, while rivalries between machinists and alchemists escalated into ideological schisms. Meanwhile, new maritime trade powers gathered strength, threatening the monarchy’s dominance.
Then came the turning point: in a secret laboratory, a forbidden experiment sought to manipulate time and space. It failed. The result was catastrophic—a rupture in the fabric of reality itself. It was the first tear in the empire’s foundation, and the beginning of its downfall.
As the Empire begins to collapse, five factions are vying for power:
- The Iron Empire – ”We build the world’s skeleton”
- The Abyss League – “The future lies in the depths”
- The Aeronauts – “The skies don’t belong to the ground”
- The Mecha-Alchemists – “We alone know how to fuse magic and machine”
- The Chrono-Custodians – “Time is our law”
Each set in this universe is influenced by one or more of these factions — both in construction style and lighting design.
